Training

From Breastfeeding London, Doula Training Courses and Conferences:

“Not a question really–I just wanted to say it was a lovely and very calming presentation (from Ilactation: Breastfeeding in a changing world 2017 Conference) that I enjoyed! You have a very calming/confident way of speaking and expressing and I’m sure that it helps your Moms and babies too! A lot of wisdom in your presentation—refocusing on the interpersonal and creative relationship of the care giver and Mom/baby dyad!”  Erin  USA

“I have for a long time, observed and been interested in the way people work energetically. Noticing the way people exchange energy, give and take energy subconsciously and have been aware that by creating the right environment and holding space for someone, it is much easier for them to step into their own power and channel their own energy. This requires patience, stillness and calm but with the strong grounded energy that makes people feel safe enough to open up. Indira is every bit this energy.” Diane

“Dear Indira: In these past days so much transformation has occurred that it may not be possible to describe everything here.  Naturally, I was driven by this shift to express a deep appreciation for opening this intimate space and guiding this journey with such a diverse group of women.  I have been utter admiration and awe of you as a woman, your ability to guide us through such a transformational process with so much information, heart and an embracing power.  London is blessed to have you.  And I am utterly grateful to have been lead by you.  Somehow you presented me with the perfect challenge and a guiding light”.  Camalo

From the Breastfeeding London Course:

“I really appreciated the TT study day. As an IBCLC there are two important things you should always have: a current and evidence-based knowledge and good communication skills; Indira gave us both. Her teaching was understandable and in-depth. She gave us all the information about anatomy and physiology, differences and classification of TT, and the effects on breastfeeding. We worked on different clinical cases, and throughout play-role games we strengthened our communication skills. Her commitment to respect women’ wishes was palpable, and I share her feeling too; during our consultations with mums we always have to give correct information, but never imposing our decision: breastfeeding is a mum’s choice. I hope to meet Indira again to learn more things from her and about her experiences.”  Claudia Gorgati, RM and IBCLC

“Dear Indira:

I can not tell you how much I have enjoyed your whole Course, as well as Anna’s teaching.  I don’t even know how to express my gratitude.  Every single study day was very informative and I loved your evidence-based, medical approach that permeates throughout.  You are really passionate about what you teach and you teach so gracefully and share your knowledge so kindly! I realized that I had a bridge to gap in my profession, we really don’t know what to say and how to support parents that are having breastfeeding problems!!! This Course is life changing; thank you again for giving me lots of hours of solid breastfeeding -medically based- training!”  Costanza Evangelio, Pediatrician

“Hi Indira,
Thank you for such an informative and enjoyable day on Position and Attachment.  I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed meeting yourself and the other students.  I really enjoyed your teaching style and your teaching studio.  It is so welcoming and you create a very safe, relaxed and nurturing environment ideal and essential for learning. I felt it encouraged a very fruitful and interesting discussion.”  Carmen Pagor IBCLC, Bsc(Hons), DipHE, RN Child, HV

“Dear Indira:  Thank you for all your time and support throughout the whole Course, I have learned so much.  Despite completing my midwifery and health visitor training, I never felt confident in dealing with more complex feeding issues other than attachment and positioning.  I honestly was skeptical about attending a Course created by someone who is not a HCP as I was very used to midwife/doctor education.  To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement.  I have found this Course the most interesting, interactive and informative Course that I have ever attended in my professional career!” Angela Chalkley RM and HV

Thank you very much for a lovely set of Study Days.  Your knowledge of lactation is immense and I have learned so much.  What was also great was meeting and interacting with so many people that have a genuine love for breastfeeding dyads and that come from so many different backgrounds.  Thank you.” Jeanette Larkins, Infant Feeding Coordinator, RM and IBCLC
